Requirements for Graduate Admission

To be considered for admission, a prospective graduate student must have:

• Earned an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution prior to the first semester of proposed graduate study (unless a qualified current undergraduate applying for a “4+1” program)
• At least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average in undergraduate coursework; applicants with grade point averages below 3.0 may be considered for admission based on other aspects of their applications

Additional, program-specific requirements may apply, depending on the graduate degree and program pursued, including application essays and interviews.

Graduate applicants must submit transcripts from all undergraduate and previous graduate institutions attended before they will be admitted. Unofficial transcripts may be used for the admissions application but official copies must be submitted in order to register for classes.

SoPA does not require Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores or letters of recommendation for admission.

Prior SoPA students who have been inactive for one year (three consecutive semesters) or longer will be required to re-apply for admission to SoPA.
