This program will help to broaden your knowledge and skills with a mind, body and spirit approach to health and wellness. Students may earn an associate’s of arts or bachelor’s degree, a minor or a post baccalaureate certificate. In studying Health and Wellness, students learn to develop effective health and wellness programs tailored to the needs of both individuals and groups; demonstrate how exercise, nutrition, weight control, and stress management promote health; and develop workplace wellness practices.
Graduates will be competent in diverse aspects of health promotion, preventive wellness strategies, recovery from illness and/or injury, and the transitional phases of aging. They will be versed in providing educational services to adult employees as well as children. Graduates hold a range of positions in organizations, including wellness director, wellness program administrator, certified personal trainer, wellness programmer, coordinators of health and wellness programming in assisted living settings, and recreational program coordinator.
