iPad I

This three hour workshop will assist the attendee in developing skills, knowledge and resources in familiarizing themselves with the various aspects of their iPad*.

Upon successful completion of this workshop, attendees will have the ability to:

  • Identify the physical characteristics of the iPad
  • Understand the screen layout and interactivity, including taps, drags, pinches, swipes and multi-touch gestures
  • Gain a basic understanding of the various types of navigation utilized by the iOS (Operating System) and a selection of common apps (applications)
  • Understand the care, cleaning and maintenance of the iPad

Discussion topics will include:

  • Physical Layout
  • Screen Layout
  • Navigation
  • Applications (Apps)
  • General Care and Cleaning

*This workshop will focus on the Apple iPad, iPad 2, iPad Mini, iPad Air and even the iPhones. While some of this information crosses the platform to the Android based tablets, we will be focusing on the Apple iOS architecture. All discussions are geared for this operating system.

The Introduction to Grant Writing Workshop has been designed to introduce students to grant writing. The overview will include: which type of grant is right for your organization, understanding the components of a grant, the preparation and writing of the grant, how relationships enhance grant funding and other information. This beginner’s workshop will give you a basic knowledge of how to start the grant writing process.

 

iPad II: A Day in the Life – My iPad and Me

by demonstrating how I use it personally and professionally in my life, on a daily basis.

Upon successful completion of this workshop, attendees will have the ability to:

  • Review the physical characteristics, screen layout and interactivity of the iPad
  • Gain a basic understanding of the litany of functions that they can use daily on their iPad, including the calendar, weather, music and entertainment, social networking,
    email, and word processing functions
  • Using Notifications Center
  • Using Control Center
  • Using Siri
  • Understand the care, cleaning and maintenance of the iPad

Discussion topics will include:

  • Physical and Screen Layout
  • Using the calendar, weather, music and entertainment, social networking, email, and word processing applications
  • Using the Notification Center, Control Center and Siri to work smarter, not harder
  • General Care and Cleaning

This information is gleaned from my own daily usage of my iPad 2 and my iPhone 5S, plus that of a number of individuals all of whom are known to utilize their iPads on a daily basis.
